Here I have some suggestions, some of them I did already propose in Asgard Heroes:

01. Return 'Stats' instead of 'Premium' on the base screen.

02. Create a button 'Repeat Mission' to repeat missions instead of manually pointing out to the same colony/mine and setting the number of ships. The button should autofill the mission form.

03. Add the looted info to the raiding reports. So that the loot would be described further in the report name. Because when I have numerous raiding reports, I can not remember which were successful and which were just a waste of time.

04. The suggestion above (03) will take to much space in the list, so that you could make COLORED icons instead of 'Battle Rport: Attack Mission'... just icons 16x16 would do good for each report case (spy, trade, etc...). No real need to read all the same words each time, just a single glance would be sufficient.

05. Create a consolidated queue page please!!! It would be really useful if you could watch all your queues (building, attacking, uprading, trading etc) on a single page. Resources spent for the queue (for buildings) and number of ships enroute with summ of their attack, defence, capacity etc (for missions) would be nice!

06. Create 'boss' interface. Many of us play in offices so that some interface with just plain b&w text would be great! Easy to do.

07. Add 'Redirect Fleet'. If I can cancel a fleet order, why can't I just redirect them? You know the origin, you know the destination, you know the total time and ETA - means you know the current fleet position. Of course it will make some unpredictable attacks possible when you can first fly to one planet and then suddenly turn to another one nearby. But... it is more realistic and is surely better than waiting for some cancelled mission to just merely return after 4 hours instead of attacking a nearby mine.

08. Alliance gourps - so that alliances may form groups or rings.

09. Common investments (see 08).

10. Taxes (see 08).

11. Common feet control and delegation (see 08).

12. Beacons. Just to automate remembering all those cordinates. Beacons can be given other players for coordination.

13. Lanes. Buildings or something to speed up fleet transfer between interconnected colonies. Makes planning where to place your next colony more essential since the transfer speed bonus will highly influence your strategic development possibilities.

14. Player dedication bonus. An alliance leader can give certain dedication bonuses to alliance members. The bonuses may boost different production and extraction rates. So that one could be for an example a food provider having +20% production... Number of bonuses depends on alliance size or power rating. Or something like that.

15. Was already suggested by someone: make possible to choose what buildings to attaack during an attack mission.

16. Develop social side of the game: make each player have a trust rating. So that everyone can vote for a player deciding if he is trustworthy or something.

17. Make some all-galactic votings. Like everyone is given an ability to vote, what kind of production will be increased by 5% for the next two days... and such...

Maybe more suggestions are to come later...

Mostly approve suggestions.

Disapprove:

• Redirecting - a lot of work to do for no good point
• Grouping - alliances are already very large and powerful structures; alliances are already has very poor centralisation and coordination
• 9, 10, 11 - look above
• Lanes - a lot of work to do and "speed bonus" wouldn't be profitable
• Dedications - it is against design of receiving bonuses
• Social side - will require A LOT of work, and the social part of the game is generally not interested by anyone. Existing simple messaging system is doing job fine
• Votings - will require a lot of work and additional resources, being against bonus receiving design, doesn't being "big deal"

But this kind of suggestions is generally valid and acceptable. Go on.

Things you have to explain more because there isn't enough information to judge whether it's a good suggestion:

#6. I just can't condone intentionally creating an interface designed to let people steal time from their employers by playing games online when they should be working.

#16. COMPLETELY abusable, would never be a reliable indicator of anything, except how much someone is willing to spam or slander you.


Interesting ones:
#2. Not bad. I'd prefer a simple "send all" button on the war page, but adding to that an extra "to the last colony I attacked" function is ok.
#5. I've argued numerous times just for consolidating the ships page, because right now you have to keep reactivating the stupid "ancient hunter" mode to get a decent interface, at EVERY colony you have. I have 20 and it pisses me off, because it used to be the default and it was FINE AND NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHANGED. That said, an even more complete page would be cool. Consolidation is the key here, not splitting things up so I have to click on 5 pages and hold that info in memory while I figure out what to build next.
#7. Should we be able to redirect after a raid, or only before? If you raid a colony and it's empty, should you be able to just send it to a neighbour to get some loot, or should you be forced to wait for the fleet to return?
#12. Could be handy I guess, but simple coordinates give you all the info you need. How would you make "beacons" better?
#13. Could be fun. Also adds a long-term development and planning aspect to the game, which it really doesn't have.
#15. Probably abusable, but worth talking about.
#17. I quite like this. Contrary to Gorath, I think it wouldn't be very hard to code temporary server-wide bonuses (using crystals already does this for individuals), and it's certainly not hard to make a voting system.

Shivv, could you please stop support your statements with unrelated arguments? It's pretty annoying.

First -> New Suggestions:

18. I did already propose in Asgard - make feature board where all the features and their implementation and acceptance state is displayed with corresponding links to the relevant threads.

19. Universal in-game time. No real need for GMT things.

20. Show the calculated distance and eta time whem creating a mission.

21. Missions. So that I could create a mission with briefing and goals and assign certain people to it. There could also be alliance missions. With Mission Chat option which automatically messages everyone involved. Will provide more control over the situations in alliances. Much of the chaos provides the low-level messaging system. Do not underestimate communication.

22. History tracking. A screen where I can graphically track in time the values from the Stats. For players and alliances.

Second -> My Comments:

01 - I do not know about other people, but me personally now have the 'Premium' button instead of the farmer 'Stats' button in the upper interface bar. I can only see the old 'Stats' button in the Colonies window. I think it is somehow related to game engine changes to encourage players help the game to develop. My browser is Chrome if that matters.

02 - The 'Repeat Mission' button is to be located in the corresponding report. So that player can immidiately commence the same assignment. Very useful while riding same colonies all the time or transfering resources the same route and amount. Or building units. The generiс Repeat feature based on report data is quite nice and improves usability.

03,04 - Yes in the report title. When icons are used instead of the repetitive words (e.g. a red crosshair for attack reports or a shield for the defensive and so on)the line will be much shorter (say 16x4=64 pixels wide for mission type, success/failure, repeat mission button, delete report), all the space that is left will be enough to display looting data just to know the rate. There will be no need in using bold fonts for the unread items, now it widens the line. Color indication may be used instead.

06 - do not argue with reality. besides, this game does not require all the entire time to be played. 5 mins an hour is ok. scientific researches indicate that no human being can productively work in an office for 8 hours in a row maintaining an unchanged level of productivity. 7 hours of work furnished with some fun increases the productivity. it is not necessary to be caled 'boss mode', it maybe smth 'text mode'. or maybe i just like a plain-text non-graphic interface for such games... remember telnet? anyway it is not that bad.

07 - no hard.

distance = sqare_root( (dest_x - orig_x)^2 + (dest_y - orig_y)^2 )

progress = overal_time_one_way / time_eta

new_origin_x = orig_x + progress * (dest_y-orig_y)
new_origin_y = orig_y + progress * (dest_x-orig_x)

redirection is possible anytime. just not only the 'cancel flight' option is available but also 'redirect' anytime from the Operations Control.

08 - things may be improved. 9,10,11 - all thrgough suggestion 21. there could be alliance treasury. 11 is through 21 especially. So that to improve centralisation and coordination. People could be assigned roles, feel responsible, be involved more, play more... the real goal of the game (and any other game) - to attract as much players as possible which automatically means that the game is well-made.

12 - just like the missions. and beacons could be associated with missions. just a separate page where coordinates are named and instead of typing in coordinates or planet name or planet id, each time or navigating the map i could just select one of my custom beacons. and would like to be able to give the beacons to other players. beacons may have custom name, say [11, 128] - Primary_Target (planet Alpha of Some Player), or [123,123] - Mining_Metal_A (Metal Mine 123 123).

13 - lanes. What do you mean by a lot of work? If changes that presume changing more that a few lines in the source code are hard work then what is the point in making all these suggestions and development and a game all in all? Speed bonus would be ok. Say I could point to one of my own or friends planet to establish the pathway.

14 - Dedication will improve alliances. There is no real bonus system in this game. Crystals system may be improved as well if needed.

15 - Why abusable? Cant I set a priority attacking list for my warriors? A mission (see 21) could have an implicit attack order. At least attack types - 'production', 'military', 'science'...

16 - Social side is not interested because there is no real social side yet. The existing messaging system is ok, but it makes some things hard.

17 - A very useful thing I think. Thus it will also highly improve the communication. A Galactic Senate where everyone has a voice. Those who want to influence - will try. It will result in much more complex social structures and relations while grouping becomes essential - to gain weight. Not hard to impement. Very easy. By improving games social side you manage to get people involved personally. Simple number-typing and real lack of any long-time strategy and planning here makes this game... 'windy'...

Feel free to elaborate with some specifics Gorath, but I can't read your mind. In any case, I just gave my support or disapproval through my opinion. I haven't really argued anything yet.

Well okay, i knew it isn't hard, but it would make possible to make your fleet attack a colony over and over and destroy it in few minutes, that's no good.

Create extra functions to estabilish lanes with on-map choosing maybe, to check when it is possible to do it, make and keep lanes in memory (which means 1 extra table and number of extra functions + extra server load) - that's already enough, but there is much more. Plus, attacking colonies is already pretty hard, there is no need to make it even harder.

Sure it will. But bonuses are received when you spend your crystals, you can't have them for free. Also there would be a really large space for abusing this system.

It isn't abusable. But there is also no need of it: if you're destroying colony, you or doing it quick or not doing it at all, so there is no space for tactics.

How long do you play this game? A week? Two? I playing it four months and i leading second strongest alliance. And you know what? We are all don't chatting. We don't even discussing tactics and such. And none of us use existing in-game forum at all, literally. So, if that simple messaging system mostly suspends, then more complex system only would consume a lot of time to develop.
Same for pt. 17 - consumes time and resources, gives none as a result.

Gorath, Shivv makes good points, and I happen to agree with them all.

Onto which disappoints me greatly...Gorath, a change of one variable would not be that hard, its using one of the perineum features that is used with crystals, it would not be hard to some of that code over, and create a simple system to give it to all players.
